Bloom Wildly | Illustration

Image
It's nearly the end of May, the weather for the last week of the month has been sun shining and over 22c of temperature, such lovely weather. So yesterday, I have been painting the dog rose flowers, that just blossomed nearly 2 weeks ago! Right now they're blooming quite wildly in my home garden and the front! This bush even grows over the tree, makes it so enchanting it's like in a magical summer garden. And with the wall, this can hang further that I can go underneath it for some shade. This one is new from the front as it hasn't grown there before, so it's the first time seeing this. And it's already climbing up the birch tree! It looks nice to look at through the window, where I work on some arts, plus good for some inspirations to illustrate! Whilst I was painting, I did another timelapse video on this. Seems I find the time-lapse illustrating very fascinating and satisfying, you can see the process in fast speed, rather than the normal speed that'll t

Happy World Bee Day | Illustration

Image
Today is World Bee Day! I'm seeing some bees buzzing around many flowers on the hottest day of the month! They're working hard to collect the pollens, so they make sweet and delicious honey and thriving all the plants! I read that my local town left so many weeds and wildflowers on the path and around the public field so that bees and other pollinating insects can do their important job! View this post on Instagram Pardon the weeds, we are feeding the bees! Look out for signs in the grass verges of Kettering and Corby Boroughs. We’re encouraging wildflowers to provide a valuable source of pollen at a time of year when there isn’t much about for bees and pollinators! The Majestic Mute Swan | Illustration

Image
I find the mute swan the most majestic bird in the lake, pure white feather, vibrant orange-yellow beak and absolute black to detail the face.   Navy and white combination looks very elegantly modern like you actually see them in the lake, with navy as water. I was inspired to paint white onto the navy when my sister painted her bedroom wall, with some paint left in the pot I used it for my painting. I painted on a few papers filled whole, stared the blank navy, visualising on what to paint on, came up with an idea of having white, as any white birds and white flowers. The mute swan was the first in my mind to paint. Even though I used acrylic paint, it takes layers to solidified, especially the white paint, as the navy showed through. For instance, you can see from the picture I started to paint that navy show through white. I thought the outcome of acrylic paint will look rough because of how thin the paint is, as layering over it does leave some texture marks. But turned out it look
