Wild Animals Coloured Drawings | Illustration

Some more developments, this time with colours. I have tried the water paint on the wing to see if i can blend some colours together smoothly, but thought it doesn’t work well. So then i tried the soft pastels, they’re much better as i can blend/smudge some colours together, looks smooth and soft. I also added the outline, gives some details clearly and better, with black Indian ink. The blue tit and the owl are my best ones.

Narrative Book | Illustration

This project I was working on making illustration book, as it's called a narrative book, it's essentially illustrated through whole pages, but the text can be included if it wanted. The genre of the story I wanted to make is nature, the short stories I have found are Angel Oak, Fleur and the Photosynthesis and The Cherry Tree by Ruskin Bond. At the end I picked The Cherry Tree, I like the story and I illustrated in my mind whilst reading which I thought this work well. Story: One day, when Rakhi was six, she walked home from the Musoorie bazaar eating cherries. They were a little sweet, a little sour- small, bright red cherries that had come all the way from the Kashmir valley.  There were not many fruit trees in the Himalayan foothills of northern India where Rakhi lived with her grandfather. The second research project is on publishing, this time it was an approach. With my group of three, myself, Snow and Lowri, chose to research educational publishing, as the audience of this publication genre does not mean just for children in Nursery, Primary, Secondary schools but also goes to teachers, special needs, adult learning another languages, older children needing a book with younger contents, poetry, etc. So then my group researched some possible educational publishing books and websites. After finding some websites, we divided up the research task; the publishers that I researched were Heinemann, Scholastic and Collins. Also I independently researched some books from one of my family member’s working place, both primary and secondary school resources. Firstly, Heinemann is an American publisher of professional resources and a provider of educational services for teachers, first year primary through to college. This publisher helps children to become literate

Fashion And Lifestyle Magazines | Editorial Research | Illustration

For the first research project, the ‘editorial market’, I picked the genre of Illustrations for Women’s magazines, as I thought that there would be much kind of illustrations to find. I collected 12 women’s magazines; nine were available from supermarkets, and other three were online magazines or articles as they called it on the websites. Mostly they are the consumer magazines, where I founded in supermarkets and newsagents. The magazines I have picked were Company, Glamour, More, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Red, ASOS, Elle, Look, Stylist and Emerald Street. Having looked through the magazines, I found many illustrations in few magazines, others that I found were only some advertisements that I thought that doesn’t count but also thought it was an illustration so should be included. There is one magazine that has more illustrations than others, which is Company. Inside the Company magazine (issue, July 2013), there are 4 illustrations, along with the acknowledgements
