My No'1 Gal | Galentine's Day | Illustration

Image
Galentine's Day may not be an official day but got to spread your love to your favourite ladies. What I gave to my special No'1 gal, my best friend Cheryl, a cute handmade greeting card of the female blackbird and female chaffinch (that represent us by sizes, I'm tiny and my bestie is quite tall, hehe).  Card size in 10.16cm by 15.24, painted in watercolour, handwritten "Happy Galentine's Day" with V crossed by G, in red. I posted to her house on the day, she got the card after work, she loved it and her comment on this 'it's so sweet'. LOVE YOUR GALS. 💖

Sleepy Fox In The Jar | Craft Illustration

Hello all. Had a splendid Christmas? I enjoyed it very much, with christmas feast, presents, films and some fun games with my family. ☺ This blog I am writing about is the fox sculpture (clay) in the jar. I made this as a christmas present for my little sister's boyfriend, who likes foxes. I came up with the idea in late September, started to make it in November and finished in mid December in a panic way, with very little spare time I have as I have some presents to wrap, more presents to buy and work. Though it was all good, all wrapped up and placed it under the christmas tree. The materials I used for sculpture in jar, for the sculpture I use air-dry modelling clay, a fitting shape glass jar and acrylic paints. With these photos I did in progress stages, first stage was to take out the clay and shaping into the fox and the position I wanted, as the fox lay down in curl as the fox sleeping cosy. Then I waited for a week to dry. I then painted in thre...

I have written down some thoughts for this project, it was three weeks worth of ideas.  I have thought of craft selling in public stall, window installation, only focus on nature or animal charity shop, Interflora competition, Cheltenham Illustration Awards competition, Deaffest competition, also some suggestion idea from my lecturer that i thought it was useful, which was having illustration of birds display in cafe, or having bird sculptures in band stand and tree, all in Abbey Park, as they have bird sanctuary. I ended up went for window installation, and found the charity shop in Northampton, which is Northampton. I did get a permission to have my sculptures display in their window shop. I took some photos to get some ideas for installation.  I did some sketch concepts of m...

I have collected artists’/illustrators’ online portfolio, to see how they use the layout, links, and what did they includes. (All of them are my influence artists and illustrators) Kristjana S William : www.kristjanaswilliams.com Her background is a large logo with simple black and white. She included her awards, store, tumblr feed and press. Easy finding the links. Her main page is a bit confusing to me. it’s like the layout a bit scattered around and was not sure what it is about. Nadia Flower : www.nadiaflower.com Plain white background. Easy to find the links on the left side. Images of her work on the right side, simple layout. Yet, enter her main page show her client work rather than somewhat personal work. But i quite like her structure. The web-design Flower using is Format. ( http://format.com/l/your_new_portfolio#peak ) Papernoodle (Cheong-ah Hwnag) : www.papernoodle.com Black background made it all dark and feeling not into it, but, with her am...
