Merry Christmas! Hello you lovely peeps, it's Christmas!  It's [weather], it would've been more Christmas if it's a white Christmas. The last time I posted a blog was easter time, about Easter! I have been very busy, to focus on things around me and haven't got some time to draw and/or paint, as I missed doing it very much.  Though I was feeling very festive that I want to do Christmas illustration!  I always have a robin and holly berries and leaves, but the material to illustrate onto is different than I normally use. Thought I could experiment on to see if that works for my Christmas illustration. I called this illustration - Red as Robin, Green as Holly, Gold as Bauble. Painting process:   These colours stated in the name are the colours I use from my Christmas tree, it's the traditional colours that feel more homely and nostalgic. Going on as long as I remember, so I never really go any Christmas colour themes, o...

Watercolour Kingfisher | Illustration

Image
It's Saturday and it's sunshine here. Two weekends ago I received some new best quality watercolour kits! Pack of 4 watercolour pads, watercolour paint and a pack of fine detail/mixed media paint brushes. I bought them from Amazon, I thanks to my Auntie J, Uncle P and cousins for the Amazon gift card from Christmas. I had my first try of Kingfisher and the outcome is amazing, I didn't expected myself water painted that brilliant, compared to what I painted before with normal sketch paper and, cheap and old watercolour paint. Take a look at my first attempt of watercolour Kingfisher. Plus you can see the feather details clearly, so I'm amazed by it. I have also water painted another Kingfisher, that I will show it for the next blog! Good day. :)

Handmade Gift For My Bestest Friend | Illustration

Image
This is a special handmade gift i made for someone important, my best friend of 15 years, even i haven't seen her for nearly a year.  I spent my christmas break making her this handmade gift, I asked her what's her favourite bird, she likes owls, because they're very sassy. I had that concept quite a long time of having acrylic paint on glass, i suddenly thought i could try the double glass photo frame, as there are some double glass frame kind now, and will makes it hugely different in craft community. Now that i have finished this handmade frame, i have took some photos here. It's all wrapped up in Christmas wrap paper, i really hope to see her this Christmas because i really missed her.  Merry Christmas!

Final Major Project Developments Part 2 | Illustration

Image
Been really busy and stressful from the past few weeks, getting everything right and some ideas for my FMP. So, here’s two photos of my 3D sculpture of fox, it’s an experimental work. I use the cotton fabric and paint on it from acrylics, gives some colours and hoping to gives some texture detail, for example, a fur texture. I will be using some birds, fox and hare, which from the poems I selected from John Clare’s. Some experiment of what materials are useable for moving image. I did text print experiment for my A2 display work.   Some experiment of the materials to use for moving image. An experimental of animation for FMP. Tried out with the digital, photoshop, just colours and the background, apart from the tree branches, it was drawn by hand and scanned. The trees are alright but the background of sky is off-putting, i would prefer use the wet media for the sky. This is what will be like for FMP, though this is an experimen...

Covert Development | Illustration

Image
These are some experiment development for the Covert project. I did on roll of lining paper, cartridge paper (A2), cotton fabric and thick cardboard. The tree on roll of lining looks better as the textures on the trunk gives the look of real colours. But i am struggling to choose which material i could use for the project…
