Winter Flowers | Illustration

Image
As I mentioned from the last blog-post, Peacock Orchid , that I was supposed to work on a series of winter flowers. Here is it! This is about these particular flowers that can thrive in cold winter, they even make this grey season some bust of colours. I picked 5 flowers to illustrate, 2 native British and 3 from other countries such as the Mediterranean and China. The 5 flowers I've chosen are pansy, winter honeysuckle, snowdrop, winter clematis and winter heather.   So, here they are, my 5 illustrations of winter flowers; I also did the digital version, by using my painting as originally is, with coloured backgrounds digitally. It's fun working on this, although wasn't so sure of the look, perhaps I need to work on the edges of my painting artwork, to soften it. Let me know in the comment what do you think of it? Thanks for reading this and have a nice evening!

The Four Rhopalocera of Colour | Illustration

Image
Hello you all. Let's start with a little bit of education if you're wondering what is Rhopalocera is?  Rhopalocera is a scientific name of the butterfly, a division of Lepidoptera consisting of the butterfly.  This scientific name Lepidoptera is an order that includes butterflies and moths, also it's a Greek name with lepis means a scale and pteron means a wing, basically an insect with scales on the wings. Additionally, the scientific name for moths is Heterocera. Furthermore, Papilionoidea is the superfamily of the butterfly, hence the genus Papilio is Latin for butterfly, that's another name that doesn't include moths. I like studying about butterflies with another name, the different varieties, watching them on flowers and mostly I'm fascinated by the wings. Anyway, back to art. This painting has four butterflies, all have colourful wings. The reason I titled this illustration 'The Four Rhopalocera of Colour' is that what does all these ...

Birthday Bird | Illustration

Image
Hellooo. It's the 16th of March, sunny day here. So yesterday, I turned 27! I had a nice lie-in in the morning even though the weather was rainy, and in the evening my family and I went out for a meal. We went to the restaurant called Wildwood that recently opened and not been there, so I thought we could try it out. I had 'Beyond Meat' Vegan Burger and it was DELICIOUS! I had a marvellous birthday. Anyway, today I'm spending my day-off, from work, to do recreate new version from my old drawing that I drew 3 years ago. This is the original illustration from 3 years ago, a quick drawing with a fine-line pen. Now scroll down for the reveal... With colours! For this, you now know what kind of bird and be mesmerising by the chaffinch's colours. Have a good day.  🎂🐦

This Flower Reminded Me Of... | Illustration

Hi all! The heatwave is still here in the U.K., although I got back from Cyprus few days ago, with my family and my brother's friend. I had an incredible holiday there, very enjoyable time, the beach, the lounger and pool that hotel we all stayed in have, were splendid. The temperature was hot, that we weren't used to it but doesn't really bothering us, because that's the point of going on holiday, just to bask in before going home. Anyway, I did the illustration of flower, I use the watercolour as I did with my pansies illustration, it's in Spring Bank Holiday blog. I've done this just a little over a month ago, I was inspired to illustrate it because they caught my eyes in my garden, how small and stand out they are in the garden, especially in this particular weather. This flower is called the California Poppy. Although the weather wasn't that much of sunshine, yet it was warm. Even I have to edited these photos to brighten up. Here's the...

Spring Bank Holiday | Illustration

Image
It's another bank holiday Monday this month, today it's Spring bank holiday. The weather today is slightly warm but cloudy, barely any sunshine. Even yesterday was scorching and Saturday was nice, although were expected to be thurderstorm in the day time for whole weekend but it didn't, can't really predict the weather. Anyway, today I did some waterpaint on Pansies, one of my absolute favourite flowers. I have so many of them in the garden, I took some pictures in sunshine to admire them, that's when I got inspired to do illustration on my spare time. These are the photos I took in beautiful weather. I waterpainted each of these pansies from the photos on here. So here are the pansies watercolour illustrations, when the sun was finally out! I actually really enjoyed doing them, and am thrilled by how they're looks, i'm impressive with myself and my waterpaint skill.  Have a love...
