Foxy Plant Pot | Art Craft

Image
A cute pot for the pretty plant! It was for my little sister, she owns some indoor plants in her room and she wanted a small pot for one of her plants. She luckily found a small ceramic pot in our garden, sat on the low wall at the end of the garden along with other plant pots, with few bit of cracks, scratches and paint peeled from the inside, but she doesn't mind as long as it's the right size. Looking at that plain, glossy cream mucky pot I thought, I could make it pretty. I asked her if she wants some bit of decoration on it, and she approved. I gathered some ideas of what sort of motif to decorate, I remembered that she likes all sort of foxes, I went for the red fox! I have sketched some fox poses, the positions on the pot, some details to add. To add it in, I have used some image references for fox body positions and faces, which helps to a variety of choices. Drawing the fox faces I still find it tricky, I got frustrated afterwards then thinking it doesn't have to b...

Sleepy Fox In The Jar | Craft Illustration

Image
Hello all. Had a splendid Christmas? I enjoyed it very much, with christmas feast, presents, films and some fun games with my family. ☺ This blog I am writing about is the fox sculpture (clay) in the jar. I made this as a christmas present for my little sister's boyfriend, who likes foxes. Though it was all good, all wrapped up and placed it under the christmas tree. The materials I used for sculpture in jar, for the sculpture I use air-dry modelling clay, a fitting shape glass jar and acrylic paints. With these photos I did in progress stages, first stage was to take out the clay and shaping into the fox and the position I wanted, as the fox lay down in curl as the fox sleeping cosy. Then I waited for a week to dry. I then painted in thre...

Fox Sculpture | Illustration

Image
I took a picture and set up frame portrait (the vignette filter), to make this looks more appealing. I was thinking using this photograph for Deaffest , as i am applying to exhibit my work for their exhibition, for deaf people. I hope i get submitting… This is what i have done over the Christmas break, for an experiment, this is a ‘air-hardening’ clay sculpture of a fox. The size on here is 17cm long and 8cm height, a small sculpture for a starter. The first 4 photos, that’s before dry and solid settled. Then these last 3 photos, became white , dry and solid, ready for the next stage. The next stage is colours and some details.
