For Long-standing loveable couple | Wedding Anniversary | Handmade Greeting Card

What I’ve done this month? Well, I have been painting a card for the long-standing loveable couple, who celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

Guess what, this couple is my aunt and uncle!

I remembered their summery June wedding in 2003, and I was their bridesmaid. I was 10, I remembered the colour of the dress I wore, the bridesmaid bouquets, my aunt’s tropical bouquet and her creamy satin dress, the lovely weather on their special day!


The meanings of the swan, flowers and colour I’ve painted on this wedding anniversary, with the mute swan they represents together forever, strong bond and family. As well as they’re very elegant bird, especially they can makes a heart shaped with the long neck.

There are two flowers surrounded the swans, the little purple flower is aster, the reason to use this flower is because in modern day for a bouquet, also became the traditional bouquet, a gift for someone’s 20th wedding anniversary. Even though there a variety of colours aster have, purple symbolises love and wisdom. The large red leaf-like flower is anthurium, it was my aunt’s wedding bouquet, I remember I was mesmerising by it, thought it a unique to use some ‘big red leaf’ for a bouquet.

Lastly, the green, supposedly emerald, bows on the swans’ neck is the colour for 20th, same goes with the gemstone.

Bloom Wildly | Illustration

It's nearly the end of May, the weather for the last week of the month has been sun shining and over 22c of temperature, such lovely weather. So yesterday, I have been painting the dog rose flowers, that just blossomed nearly 2 weeks ago! Right now they're blooming quite wildly in my home garden and the front! This bush even grows over the tree, makes it so enchanting it's like in a magical summer garden. And with the wall, this can hang further that I can go underneath it for some shade. The Monarch | Illustration

The Milkweed butterfly, also in another name of the Monarch butterfly, inspired me when I watched BBC's Spy in the Wild Series 2 in February. In episode 2 "The North", in this scene located the mountain in West Mexico, with the Spy Hummingbird capturing the place that's considered the world's most beautiful natural gathering, where the Monarch butterflies hibernated during the winter. It was Spring, the Spy hummingbird flying around millions of butterflies resting on the oyamel fir trees (I just looked it up of what kind of tree because I can't remember what it was, hehe). When the sunshine on them, warmed their delicate wings, then started to fly. And when they fly, it was absolutely spectacular, all orange and flow through the trees. I imagined myself in there, underneath them and watching them as they migrate to North. I felt calm and delight thinking about it, it was awe-inspiring.
