Earth Day | Illustration

Image
Hello lovelies. Did you know yesterday was Earth Day? A reminder for our home planet, we should be kind and do something to help. We can reduce the plastic uses, swap to reusable items, eat less meat, reduce food wastes, and plants some trees! This is the flower I painted to use as collage the shape of earth, and with two colours to tinted this flower, which give some details of water and land. Pretty, isn’t it? Have a nice day. 🌍💚

What Inspired Me? - Easter | Illustration

Image
Hello and happy Monday, of course it’s bank holiday today so it is good Monday. Heheh. So, bit of surprise in this blog, I did a chatting video! The very first video that I was talking, I was actually so nervous talking like this, to the camera as well, don’t know what and how to talk like this particular things, I just went along and hoping it makes sense. So, please be kind, I did my best. 😅😅😅 In this video I talk about my two products, a mug and tote bag, why I thought they’re ideal Easter gifts (and gifts for rabbit lovers of course), and what inspired me to use this painting onto products and to paint by illustrate what rabbit went through, as well as making them looked beautiful, and at the same time have a happy ending. If you have watched it, I thank you and really appreciate it. Remember, rabbits are for life, not just for Easter. Thanks!

Mallard Duck’s Mother Love | Greeting Card | Illustration

Image
Hellooo. I’ve added this new greeting card in my Etsy shop, for Mother’s Day! A sweet greeting card of Mallard duck, a mother and her duckling, with a flower of pink carnation. I thought duck and duckling would make it more cute for Mother’s Day card, how little ducklings following their mother with their waddling little legs. And the mothers, when one or few of her ducklings get lost or stuck, she stay close and finds them, communicating with quacks so she can navigate them by hearing their calls. As this mother duck would say, no ducklings left behind! Did you know, the pink carnation flowers traditionally gifted for Mother’s Day and pink symbolises gratitude and love. This cute card are for mum, mum-to-be, step-mum, grandmother, and even for the one who step up to be your mums! Even the duckling is a baby, it doesn’t matter for all of the older children and adults, because mums sees you as her baby, even my mum say the same to me and both of my siblings!  Get this card fr...

The Christmas Red Wreath | Merry Christmas! | Illustration

Image
Today’s Christmas Eve! And it’s going to be a busy day, prepping for tomorrow. I’ve got to do some gifts wrapping, tidy the Christmas decorations and baking my own Christmas biscuits. I won’t relax until Christmas night when my family and I get tired after eating the Christmas snacks! Anyway, here’s my painting, as my Christmas Bird collection, of a male Bullfinch perched on the Christmas wreath. The red and green, with subtle yellow and white, gives the Christmas vibes, although the red is more eye-catching.  I called this artwork The Christmas Red Wreath. I thought this male Bullfinch is a nice bird for Christmas in British, they works nicely with any Christmas objects. I’m lucky that I have a variety of plant in my garden I can get some inspiration. Like these two: This painting will be a Christmas card, which I will put up for sale later next year! I like to thanking you for reading this and all of my blogpost and wishing you a merry Christmas and have a joyful day. 🎄💜...

All of the birds of Birdtober | Art Challenge | Art Diary

Image
Look at all of these birds (missing the last three shown above) that I’ve painted every day for a month in October! My very first art challenge of this particular art I participated from Instagram, I enjoyed it very much. All these prompts that have picked really gave me some inspiration and motivation to paint. I’ve discovered that I learned a lot from it, for example, how I painted more flow each day, new knowledge of bird’s facts and causes of their decline, and how I admired their looks, especially the plumage.  Also I really appreciate the kindness from the bird lovers/artists community from Instagram! I have a quite few of favourites, which then gave me some ideas for the paintings. 👍😆 Here’s a gallery of my Birdtober paintings. If you like to see more, follow me @lauramillustration on Instagram. 😀 Thanks for reading and have a great weekend, and for the UK, happy Bonfire Night!
