Reflection On The London Trip

Image
Arrived in London on 31th October, gathered up with the group. The first stop was The Horse Hospital, with very small gallery of ‘Alien Puma Space Train: The Visionary Work of Daniel S. Christiansen’. Looked at Daniel’s drawings was a bit confused at first, soon then when I noticed quite faded with drawing of underground train, though it was mentioned ‘Alien Puma Space Train’. Viewed these drawings and tried to understand his concepts and culture combined. My thoughts of his drawings are like an Egyptian style, as there are human with wings. But I was distracted away from understanding of his drawing and was interesting of how the wings are perfect match to real birds’ that I was tried draw of.   Moving on to the next stop of University of the Arts London, London College of Communication Elephant and Castle, a huge corridor gallery of ‘50 Years of Illustration’. The Day I Went To London | Illustration

Image
I went to London yesterday with my university 'gang', as research, experiment learning and exploring for my professional practise work. Took the train from my hometown, as it's only an hour from here to London. Got off the train in St Pancras Station, walked to Euston Station to meet the gang then start the gallery visits. Good thing it was nice, warm and sunny day, for a Halloween's Day, even i carried my umbrella just in case, because i'm very well-prepared lady. Got home about 6ish in the evening, it was long tiring day. Even though on the outside i was quite enjoying with such a very little smile, but in the inside i'm still grieving about my family dog of 13 years, Max, passed away this month and my foster rabbit also passed away on the day before visit to London. It's really devastating and overwhelming, the recovering will come soon...

Pick Me Up: Graphics Arts Festival | 2011

Image
We arrived in London on 17 th March. Firstly we went in Somerset House and founded Pick Me Up entrance. I was very interested when I saw coloured arrows on the walls and giant arrows mobile hanging from the ceiling. Then I saw the colourful in Graphics gallery that were very eye-catching. The first displays that interested me was Jules Juliens’ works, I like all of his displays because it’s like very feminine to me and looks interesting.     Then ‘Zara Wood aka Woody’ displays, its also very feminine and very simple drawing.       To Jessica Hische’s display, its very feminine I like the way flowers flow and its link to the letters. The colours are complementary. Clara Terne’s display is vague and abstract. The title is The Intangible. Its looks like she draw with music. Qwenola Carrere’s displays are quite bold with primary colours and it’s like a...
