Earth Day | Water Painting

Image
I know I'm a few day lates for Earth Day, but I just want to show my water paint to celebrate it! I was aware of Earth Day on Thursday, didn't know it was celebrated on Wednesday, I started painting on Thursday, finished it this afternoon! For Earth Day, I appreciate nature grows in my home country, they help all wildlife, the view of the countryside that I always take a deep breath and feel relax by looking at all these trees, flowers, greens and animals. To dedicate it, I decided to paint from the photo I took a while ago from bird watching, so I replicate from the photo. From this bird watching photograph - To this water paint -  I did this a quick painting although it took a while to dry as it will blend onto other parts, I have work on layers. As I was planning to finish it on the same day as I started, with this drying time, I couldn't finish it on the day so have to move to the next day.  I'm ver

Little Chick and Colourful Easter Eggs | Happy Easter | Illustration

Happy Easter! What are you planning today for Easter? Egg hunt in your garden? Eat all of the chocolate eggs? Cooking Easter Sunday Roast? Baking Easter cake? My day will be water painting another rabbit and chick, relaxing in the garden and listening birds tweeting, having roast dinner and eat some chocolate eggs! My water paint illustration of Easter Greeting. I was a bit displeased with the Easter eggs, though it's not my forte. And the mess of my handwritten on "Happy Easter", I used too much water from the water brush container and dropped on the spot. On the other hand, the chick looking splendid, my water paint skill always better on animals.   Lastly, I like to talk about rabbits again, even I did from the previous blog "I'm not an Easter Gift" , here's this article I came across a couple days ago,  Heartbreaking Comic About An Abandon Pet Rabbit By Artist Jenny Jinya , the truth about domestic rabbits left to fen

"I'm not an Easter gift" | Illustration

It's Good Friday today! And good weather here with 22C and sunshine. I'm waiting for Easter Sunday so that I'll have some Easter chocolate eggs and devour it. On behalf of all the rabbits, I want to make awareness about rabbits at Easter time, rabbits are 10 to 12 years commitment, not as Easter gift! People buy them for their children as Easter gift, without researches, thinking about finances, commit to having them for their whole life, they'll end up abandon in a few months. Young children will get bored with them eventually, even they weren't begging to have one. The vet bill is expensive from such a small, delicate creature. They're high maintenance so they're not great "starter" pet. They require a large space to entertain themselves outdoor and lives indoor, but shut in the hutch outdoor, mostly being forgotten. When people gave them up, they dumped them in street thinking they can survive out there like the wild rabbits. There a

The Four Rhopalocera of Colour | Illustration

Image
Hello you all. Let's start with a little bit of education if you're wondering what is Rhopalocera is?  Rhopalocera is a scientific name of the butterfly, a division of Lepidoptera consisting of the butterfly.  This scientific name Lepidoptera is an order that includes butterflies and moths, also it's a Greek name with lepis means a scale and pteron means a wing, basically an insect with scales on the wings. Additionally, the scientific name for moths is Heterocera. Furthermore, Papilionoidea is the superfamily of the butterfly, hence the genus Papilio is Latin for butterfly, that's another name that doesn't include moths. I like studying about butterflies with another name, the different varieties, watching them on flowers and mostly I'm fascinated by the wings. Anyway, back to art. This painting has four butterflies, all have colourful wings. The reason I titled this illustration 'The Four Rhopalocera of Colour' is that what does all these
