What Inspired Me With 'Lavender and A Mallard Duck' | Holiday To NorFolk | Illustration Diary

Image
Hello, and happy weekend! As I've mentioned from the last blog post, 'Lavender and A Mallard Duck' , of what inspired me to paint this artwork. Now here it is, a holiday diary/album, basically, of Norfolk! Few months before going on holiday, my family and I decided to go on holiday in September, as well as to have a week with her birthday, unintentionally, and better time for work with their numbers of project deadlines. This was a very much needed holiday as my family and I not had a holiday since June 2019, hence, I have been working extra hours and every Saturday at work, so I do definitely need a holiday. And, this was our first holiday with our adopted dog Akira, which makes this holiday special altogether. We've booked our holiday in Norfolk on the 10th, and we impatiently looking forward to it! On 10th of September, we've packed our suitcases, shoving in my sister's car and off we went to Norfolk. This woodland as we drove through to Snettisham, where we...

What Is Drawing | Professional Practise

Image
A definition of drawing is “sketch (a figure, picture, etc.)with a pencil or pen” and “picture or plan made by means of lines on a surface; art of making drawings”. (Colins English Dictionary, 2004) My thought of drawing is in the same way as basic and improving skills with pencil by hand. Observational sketches, outline drawings and also delicate details, with basic hard media tools such as pen, pencil, charcoal, graphite, etc as well as some doodle drawing, a loosely imaginative sketch. An illustrator like myself, would draw for their own purpose such as pleasure, to please viewers, communicate, experiment and to give of expression. Here follows some example of artists’/illustrators’ drawings (my inspiration list) Furry Little Peach (aka Sha’an D’Anthes) sketches all kind of animals, mostly, in a soft watery style. She sketched many as rough ideas for her main artwork, like the stingray sketch. She also doodles out of pleasure and expresses the beauty of wild animals I belie...

Discovered My Ancestor's Creativity

I have discovered that my two ancestors from my mother’s side who are my great grandmother and grandfather. My great grandmother sold her handmade owl calendars to Harrods or Selfridges, which I realised I am following her footstep of crafting. My grandfather’s passion and hobby of photography, I have found out that one of my hobbies is nature photography, also following his passion. And finally, my mother’s skill of pottery from her school, she used to enjoyed it and made it much better than me.

The Day I Went To London Again | Illustration

Image
Two weeks later from the Halloween's Day, i went to London with the university yesterday, again! We went to British Library as they have the exhibition showing of Terror and Wonder, The Gothic Imagination. This is really as a research for the competition project, three horror stories. It was quite dark exhibition inside but it was interesting, unfortunately photographing was not allowed. With the technique styles and illustrations had inspired me for the concepts of illustration, especially from that illustration on Exhibition Guide bouche.  Metal sculpture tree from outside of the British Library. We then went to The British Museum, not far from the British Library, they hold the exhibition of Witches and Wicked Bodies. Even though i looked through the displays but not took some photos, i got distracted by the Japanese displays and took some. I did that because i need some inspiration of Japanese bird and nature arts, and styles for my FMP. Here are ...
