Pattern Design | Illustration

I had showed my mum and younger sister of my design to hear their opinion and feedback, both loves it and my sister would love to have one as a wallpaper for her bedroom. It is definitely stressful project but overall, i am pleased.

Cath Kidston Competition | Illustration

This is for competition project, for Cath Kidston. It’s not completed yet, still need to change few around then i’m done. This is really hard work to do, that i thought from the start will be simple but later it’s get really complicated and lots of stress. The colour choice is quite difficult but at the end, i am happy the choice of colours i chose.  I did some development concepts, some birds, plants, butterflies, etc. I did some drawings that i would use for the design such as the berries in ink and the soft outline butterflies. I drew three chosen positions that works well for my design. Then used the tracing papers for painting over the original drawings, scanned them and worked in photoshop to makes it more digital and in three colour versions. I did some experiment on pattern or surface design, as in another name, and hoping this will improves and giving me some more ideas. My completed design patches.

Covert Launch Party Gallery | Illustration

Launch Party/Private View in Collective Collaborations exhibition from 6th March. Here’s me standing next to my artwork. So this is how big it is. Lots of people came which is all good! I am very happy with my artwork in the gallery, even though it was my very first public gallery for my artwork. It's my first ever to have my artwork in public gallery, i had my creative works in gallery only in college.

Covert | Illustration

We have our work put up in display and ready for the launch party (in another name, Private View), then will be in public after it. They're in Collective Collaboration Gallery in Northampton. Here are some photos of my Covert project work. On the brief, we also have to use the 3D element along with main work. I did clay sculptures many time before so i chose to use clay, although i last done the clay sculpture was 4 years ago. But i haven’t lost my skill of clay sculpture, the form of the bird, the blue tit, is much better than i thought it might be. I was meant to have a bird standing, with legs, but unfortunately, it was far to weak to hold onto the body, as it is heavy, so i got rid of the legs and made it lay down/nesting. Pleased with all of them. We have Covert exhibition blog in this link: covert-exhibition.tumblr.com

Title GIF Experiment | Illustration

Image
This is some kind of testing or experiment thing. This was at the end of my 2nd gif, seeing the text work. I used ink and my handwriting style I wasn’t so sure to use this text in it, and also quite fast. I may not using it for final, but we’ll find out.

Promotional Card Design | Illustration

Image
This is my business/promotional cards for Covert exhibition. The background i use to get anything to relate to my work, so i have found to use it, with a mock up of robin in the tree. I am happy with the look of my cards, the the text and layout grid are not good, as i have no tip or no idea how to do text layout perfectly.

Storyboards For Bird Raise Awareness Moving Image | Illustration

Image
Well, this month had been really busy and stressful. So, these are some storyboard for moving image/animation/gif project, the brief i chose is to make a series of 3 or 4 (if i can do) gifs to raise awareness about a social, cultural, political, economic or environment issue. What i am doing is basically environment issue, for  birds . I did some research on  RSPB , they have many advice of helping birds, which are easy for me to get some ideas for gifs, like these photos of storyboards for example. After sketched out some storyboard, i find it quite difficult to choose 4 of them are more useful to raise awareness and to make gifs, but at the end i have made some choice (marked it with star). P.S. Sorry for that terrible lighting quality.
