Christmas Card and Wrap | Illustration

Image
I have started in this Christmas project back in November, the ideas I had were so many, but I don't have time to do all for this month so I'll be continuing next year. This blog I'll be talking about is Christmas card and wrap, seeing so many cards and wraps for Christmas amazed me, with various illustration styles, and including the photography Christmas cards such as robin on the snow, Christmas tree and so on.  Having that with my artworks into copied on products if I'm thinking of selling them. The card is simple for me as I just painted it and photographed or scanned it, depend on better quality. Whereas the pattern, I have very little knowledge of making a pattern although I've done it when I was in university, so I did a bit of research to study again and go along with it. So firstly, I started to paint robins in several poses, and the holly berries and leaves, using gouache paint. I then scanned them, edited in Photoshop (Adobe), starting on the square for ...

The Darkest Butterflies | Illustration

Image
This is The Darkest Butterflies illustrations, as the Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell.  The colours from these two butterfly kinds works well on the dark background as this gives some strong contrast. I used the colour pencils for the butterflies, scanned them then onto the photoshop, edited the contrast level to the lowest that gives those effect.  I then worked on the pattern designs, here are the designs; Then put these two butterflies together; I like the last ones, the circle pattern, it's looks like the mandala design. All of these illustrations will looks really lovely for desktop background. 😃

New Pattern Designs | Peach Roses

Image
I have came up with the idea for my new pattern design, as well as in experimenting with it, so i tried out with watercolour paint and flower and see how they look. Because i love floral and watercolour paint illustration.  I firstly drew flowers to work out which one is the best for the watercolour. Then i watercolour paint of flower as i draw them. Once i picked the good one, i scanned it and opened the photoshop. Then i started to do the pattern layouts, i came up with three designs. I ended up did this pattern design in attempted of anaglyph 3D effect. Funnily enough, I would like to know if that's work because i don't have the anaglyph 3D glasses. Also, here's my attempt title design.

Cath Kidston Competition | Illustration

Image
This is for competition project, for Cath Kidston. It’s not completed yet, still need to change few around then i’m done. This is really hard work to do, that i thought from the start will be simple but later it’s get really complicated and lots of stress. The colour choice is quite difficult but at the end, i am happy the choice of colours i chose.  I did some development concepts, some birds, plants, butterflies, etc. I did some drawings that i would use for the design such as the berries in ink and the soft outline butterflies. I drew three chosen positions that works well for my design. Then used the tracing papers for painting over the original drawings, scanned them and worked in photoshop to makes it more digital and in three colour versions. I did some experiment on pattern or surface design, as in another name, and hoping this will improves and giving me some more ideas. My completed design patches. ...
