Christmas Card and Wrap | Illustration

I have started in this Christmas project back in November, the ideas I had were so many, but I don't have time to do all for this month so I'll be continuing next year.

This blog I'll be talking about is Christmas card and wrap, seeing so many cards and wraps for Christmas amazed me, with various illustration styles, and including the photography Christmas cards such as robin on the snow, Christmas tree and so on.
Having that with my artworks into copied on products if I'm thinking of selling them.
The card is simple for me as I just painted it and photographed or scanned it, depend on better quality. Whereas the pattern, I have very little knowledge of making a pattern although I've done it when I was in university, so I did a bit of research to study again and go along with it.

So firstly, I started to paint robins in several poses, and the holly berries and leaves, using gouache paint.

I then scanned them, edited in Photoshop (Adobe), starting on the square for a single pattern, deciding on the position which is quite tricky. In the end, I have settled on this pattern, excluded one robin as I thought it doesn't work well altogether.

With that, I worked on a large canvas to begin the repeat pattern.

I printed on the cartridge paper to test how the pattern looks and correct size. Also, I tested on the cream cotton fabric, if I'm to sell them, this would be really useful as it's environment-friendly, reusable and saving money! Even I use this material to wrap the gifts, and it's blank I thought having my pattern artwork would make the gifts more Christmasy than the plain cream.

With Christmas cards, I used the same artwork of the pattern in individual.

Maybe next year, I'll be selling them, who knows!

Have a lovely Christmas Eve Eve!
