Yellow As Bright As The Sunshine | Illustration

Image
The sun has finally come out at the perfect time, for the bank holiday weekend! I have been wondering when will the sun come as the whole month of May has been unusually wet and chilly, then a drastically change this weekend, sun out and temperature rise. Wore from a jumper with thick bottom clothing to a flowy dress! Three weekends ago, on a rainy day, I was flicking through the Observer's Book of Butterflies, a yellow butterfly caught my eye, a Berger's Clouded Yellow Butterfly. The yellow wings made me think about warmth and the sun, yellow as bright as the sunshine!   I then got inspired to paint this yellow butterfly. Here's the process; And the Instagram reel of process in fast speed; View this post on Instagram A post shared by Laura Mallaghan Illustration (@lauramillustration) Now I'm going to sunbathe in the garden, absorbing the warmth and Vitamin D from the sun! 🌞 Have a lovely Bank Holiday today!

Spotted the Bullfinch at the Rare Moment | Illustration

Image
Hello peeps. Back in February, walking with Odin, the previous foster dog, and my sister to the countryside, as I was talking to my sister, behind her I spotted something red through the tall dried weeds, it was a Bullfinch! I was gaspingly amazed, quickly I whipped out the phone and captured some pictures, here are the photo references;  The fact is, Bullfinch is so rare to be seen, even though males have a very distinguish redbreast, hence that's what I noticed, even 3 metres roughly from where I stood and surrounded by the dull plants and lack of light due to the winter weather. Thereafter, I looked at these photos again, felt inspired to paint, as well as make them like an enhancement from the photos, a clearer image of what I saw at the time.   Every time I walk across the same path, I have not seen the male Bullfinch... yet. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
