Hello you. It's May Day today and Britain is celebrating VE Day! Marking 75th anniversary of the end of WW2. Also, I feel like celebrating myself that I have finally finished my moving image! Or in another name GIF. Last time I worked on animation was when I was in university, that's 5 years ago! It's been so long and quite hard to find some time as illustration-animation is time-consuming. When the lockdown happened here, I thought something to get myself focus whilst isolating in my home, is doing illustration as well as an animation! So it's a perfect time to get back on animation again.  The equipment I used in university, working on my animation project, was utterly different from what I did on this and don't have them anymore, so I improvise. I would really use a proper lightbox to inbetweening as it's easier and less hassle, I had to use a makeshift lightbox with a clear plastic box with a desk lamp inside.  The show had been done and had launch party yesterday, it was good, the show was brilliant. I took some photos of my best work, both Illustration projects and Final Major Project, being in the show. Finally finished the animation and is ready for the show. I even got a little emotional at the end, i thought this will be good in show, hopefully.

Half way to completing this animation for fmp|degree show. This actually taking long time to make each scene. Yet, i haven’t start 4 A2 drawings. 😰

An experiment for animation, for FMP. Now I’m choosing to use the waterpaint, fine line pen, colour pencils and pencil.

Been really busy and stressful from the past few weeks, getting everything right and some ideas for my FMP. So, here’s two photos of my 3D sculpture of fox, it’s an experimental work. I use the cotton fabric and paint on it from acrylics, gives some colours and hoping to gives some texture detail, for example, a fur texture. I will be using some birds, fox and hare, which from the poems I selected from John Clare’s. Some experiment of what materials are useable for moving image. I did text print experiment for my A2 display work.   Some experiment of the materials to use for moving image. An experimental of animation for FMP. Tried out with the digital, photoshop, just colours and the background, apart from the tree branches, it was drawn by hand and scanned. Some swallow flying movement, i sketched it out from youtube in slow motion because it’s easy to watch their wings goes in slow way, even swallows swifts around. Then use these to experiment into gif. For the FMP, i decides to use John Clare’s beautiful english countryside poems, i have selected 5 of his bird poems and two of his animals or woodland animals poems, and also other poems of more birds, woodland animals and including countryside landscapes from different or random poets. Reason of using poems text that i will illustrates it from text, an imaginary as what i see in my thought whilst read these poems. Now i'm in my final year in university, that means the big Final Major Project, Degree Show and graduation. Anyway, this is the first project this year, it's simple two weeks, same thing as last year for 2nd year and final year putting together for this project, of course, it's an editorial, this time it's called The Wisdom of Crowds. I get that thoughts of will this article be a difficult for me to understand, will my illustration looks good, will i get some more concepts from last year? To my surprise, my lecturers came over to me and mentioned that i can do moving image in this editorial project if i want to (to remind you, they know my work and how good my moving images are and they loves it), so i went for it. When i read through the article, yet again, find it difficult to get some illustrate concepts from these words. However i picked some small sentences from simple words such as " being perforated by “black holes” " which i was thinking to use...
