" Violet. - I'm sure you'll grow into a woman just as lovely as those flower." | Illustration
"You Won't Be a Tool, but a Person Worthy of That Name"
As I watched Violet Evergarden on Netflix, I really enjoyed it so much that I'm waiting for the 2nd season! I have to thank my sister for the recommendation.
Violet Evergarden is about a girl who was a soldier tool for war, was for Gilbert Bougainvillea but he treated her as a human, raised her and even named her Violet.
He named her that he wishes she'll grow up to be as beautiful as the flower.
After the war, Violet became an Auto Memory Doll and searching the meaning of that last words Gilbert said to her before the collapse in the battlefield. It was a very interesting journey she had as well as quite emotional.
With the scene of when Gilbert named her, episode 4, as the flower showed up and the quote, I was inspired that I had to paint the flower, that would show my interest of Violet Evergarden and thought it's perfect for my illustration.
I have been using gouache paint and the thought of the black paper for the background with the violet flower colours of violet and green gives more striking.

Even though the line from Gilbert that I watched was - "I have a feeling you'll grow into the name when you're older". I suppose it was set in the UK English language on subtitle/caption. Here's proof-
Anyway, it was a great anime series to watch, as I mentioned before from the last blog: The Sunshine from Summer Sunset, there are more brilliant anime films and series. So now, I'm waiting for Violet Evergarden 2nd season AND March Comes In Like A Lion 2nd season.
Very fascinating website design of Violet Evergarden quotes collection, the background of these captured scenes from the quotes - https://sharjournals.wixsite.com/quotediary/violetevergarden
