Seagull Reminded Me of the Seaside | Illustration
Dark cloudy and raining weather that has been for the past few weeks here, there's a little bit of sun shining through the grey cloud. Although it's been warm, that's the result of thunderstorms we had the past few days, even had a big one on Tuesday, I actually don't mind thunderstorm as it's always been interesting to watch since I was a child, along with my brother and sister. It's typical British summer weather.
Back in May, I had that itching feeling of wanting to go to the beach with really nice summery weather that May had, with the lockdown and restrictions, my family and I had to respect the guideline rules in public.
So to think about the seaside town and the beach, I started to paint seagulls. Because they sure do reminding of the seaside, they're always there, a beach bird as I labelled them. My family and I always go to the beach when we were on holiday.
The last time I went to the beach was 2 years ago in Cyprus, with my family. But that was nothing like the beach I often go to because there weren't much of seagulls there, though Cyprus has been a great holiday as it's one of my mum's favourite place for a holiday.
Really, the last time I went to the ENGLISH beach, where you can see seagulls, was 5 years ago. That was in Torquay, seagulls on the beach and even in the town. Seagulls everywhere and that's typical English beach!
I drew the seagulls from the photos I took years ago, even took so many photos with a variety of their body movements, especially flying.
And I continue painting another two seagulls in different body movements.
Whenever a seagull or a few flies by my house in a small countryside town and does the 'laughing' call, that'll make me think about being on the beach with sunshine and warm temperature.
When things becoming relax, my sister and I were thinking of going to the beach first thing! 😀🏖
