Handmade Style - Greeting Card Research | Illustration
On the fourth research seminar as a small group we selected some examples of handmade cards. We thought this genre, handmade, was rather easy to find, however, from finding, we struggled to collect many brand kind of handmade cards.
Other than that, I have quite an unusual collection obsession of birthday and Christmas cards, as my memories collection. So then I searched through them hoping to find some handmade and research the brand or shop that may be a handmade business or collection section of handmade.
After I found some handmade cards, I tracked down four brands. Another brand that I thought of are creative shop, which includes a majority of handmade cards.
The first shop brand, Paperchase. I noticed there are some pop up cards, hand printings, layering and collages, cut out/laser-cut style and 3D tags stick on. I thought Paperchase is a popular shop selling collections of handmade cards. These cards cost very slightly more than affordable card shop companies, certainly in collections.
Carlton Cards is a collection found in UK Greetings, they have their own themes, but it had got less handmade collections than I thought. The collections I have found were Pepperminty and Button Box.
K2 Greetings is its own brand, and also have card collections. Again has got less handmade collections as well, so I have got a Moulin Rouge collection with my collection and found Vintage Rose collection in the shop.
Daisy Chain is also its own company and a collection found in Clinton shop. I estimated there are half of handmade cards, along with digital print cards.
Carlton Cards, K2 Greetings and Daisy Chain are quite similar that I noticed as in with collection kinds.
And finally, similar to Paperchase, is Hallmark. They also have their own handmade collections along with their other card styles. The prices of Hallmark cards are a lot more than Paperchase, especially handmade cards.
To put all handmade cards together in a group for presentation, I was impressed with Lowri for what she found the Lotus Art Studio cards. The quality of the cards and the handmade are stunning and the prices were amazedly expensive.
Overall, I was quite pleased how I found them, but I was particularly interested in the Hallmark cards.
