Poster Designs for College | Graphic Design

This project we were asked to design posters for our college upcoming event, Creative Arts Show. So far, i did four posters, these two are mixed media and other two are just done in digital, as in Adobe Illustrator.

Poster design no'1, the style of this design was inspired by the constructivism style. I started colours blocks on whole page, did the background first, with light brown colour. Then did red block, changed the angle, then added the photograph of college building, edited in photoshop for the filter then back to Illustrator, using the effect of the transparency to darken. Lastly, did black block at the bottom for details.


Poster design no'2, i worked it on Adobe Illustrator, i was actually play around the shapes, colours and font style to make it work well altogether, ta-dah.


Poster design no'3, same as no'2 but in white background and opposite the colour of texts.


Poster design no'3, here's the image of my abstract drawing that i used for the background. It was that session when we have to listened the music, look into our head for the abstract, as in shapes, colours, textures, etc. 


What i find it quite tricky was the texts align it along with the curve of the tornado-like, first i curved the texts to fix in the tornado's curve, i have been told that it doesn't work that way so i went back to flat-straight.

 After we had presentation to show everyone our poster designs, we were waiting to hear back the pick of the design. Unfortunately, they're weren't keen on our design and had to ask the technical-designer, who's obviously more experienced than us students, to design a better poster. We were disappointed and had let us down.

Anyway, we are getting things prepare for June.

The Milkweed butterfly, also in another name of the Monarch butterfly, inspired me when I watched BBC's Spy in the Wild Series 2 in February. In episode 2 "The North", in this scene located the mountain in West Mexico, with the Spy Hummingbird capturing the place that's considered the world's most beautiful natural gathering, where the Monarch butterflies hibernated during the winter. It was Spring, the Spy hummingbird flying around millions of butterflies resting on the oyamel fir trees (I just looked it up of what kind of tree because I can't remember what it was, hehe). When the sunshine on them, warmed their delicate wings, then started to fly. And when they fly, it was absolutely spectacular, all orange and flow through the trees. Bloom Wildly | Illustration

It's nearly the end of May, the weather for the last week of the month has been sun shining and over 22c of temperature, such lovely weather. So yesterday, I have been painting the dog rose flowers, that just blossomed nearly 2 weeks ago! Right now they're blooming quite wildly in my home garden and the front! This bush even grows over the tree, makes it so enchanting it's like in a magical summer garden. And with the wall, this can hang further that I can go underneath it for some shade. This one is new from the front as it hasn't grown there before, so it's the first time seeing this. And it's already climbing up the birch tree! It looks nice to look at through the window, where I work on some arts, plus good for some inspirations to illustrate! Whilst I was painting, I did another timelapse video on this. Motion frame, Horse and Rabbit (my foster rabbit, Dust). Colour felt tip pens. - I worked on this for Life Drawing independent project in university (first year), I chose to work on animal motions, I like drawing animals and am interesting their movements.
