Sparrow on the Dog Rose Twig | My Artwork on Products | Illustration

Hello!

And a happy new year!

Did you all have a nice start to the new year?
I actually missed Christmas, that festive vibes, all finished until the next 11 months.

Anyway, about my 'delay' post that I have started a year ago, well here it is!  The reason is I have that one, a Christmas gift for my uncle, was a new idea of products that I want to include on here, you'll see when you read through. I believe this is going to be a long blog post. Hehe.

First thing first, I have made a video of my artwork!

So snazzy, isn't it? Hehe

An inspiration of watching sparrows flying around the feeders, a lot of them hiding behind all these leaves of the bushes I have in my garden, waiting a turn to perch on the feeders, it was like playing hide and seek when I was bird watching.

Thinking about it, this has been the busiest time when I was working on this artwork. I actually started in late June or early July in 2020! First foster dog happened, returned to work after lockdown happened, my sister's dog sitting back on business happened. I was struggling to get back onto this artwork to finish it off, because of all the change and distraction in short of space. I have been painting other artworks, as they were either straightforward to paint or the theme of the month.

I have finally finished painting this, I'm guessing it was in September time.

Here are a few photographs of painting processes and close up;

That time when this painting sat on my desk easel, my mum walked by and stop to look at it, she thought the sparrow looks very sweet and the painting was lovely. I thought I could have this original artwork to make a copy onto a product, I decided this to be printed on a tote/shopping bag.

Here's a finished product!

I also added a personalised message at the back of the bag, said "Love You Mum Love Laura".

To tell you the truth, it was not fun to do a product photoshoot. I don't have the proper equipment as I only have my Samsung phone with a wobbly phone tripod, a natural light by the sunlight when it was very bright, me being an awkward model and foster dog nosy around the room. On the bright side, no pun intended, the wallpaper makes the whole photos look nicer with the product. Hehe.

I'm including the behind scene of my clumsy effort for product photography, just for the laugh.

As a result, I gifted it to my mum on Christmas day and she loved the personalised tote bag.

Then I had another idea, a most common product of the copies of original artwork, a wall art. This time a gift for my uncle.

Here's wall art in size A2.

My uncle proudly displayed this in his new house!

After I have been doing this project, I have a plan with all of my artworks, using the same way as these two products and other things as well!

Thanks for reading and have a nice day, evening, or night!
