Long-tailed Tit on the Blossom Tree Branch | Illustration



When will the warmth come in this month?

A little over a week ago was absolutely shiveringly cold! I've been thinking about the beautiful blossom trees that will bloom, as I have three cherry trees in my garden and would've been bloom on the whole tree by then, at the moment there has been a small number of flowers bloomed but lots of buds.

This then inspired me to paint the birds on the tree branch, I choose Long-tailed tit as they're my favourite bird. I have been struggling to visualise the branch to draw out, I research the image reference from online and photos I've taken from my garden.

Here are the photo references I had in my garden, the plum (pink) and cherry (white) trees;



I just draw in a flow from these references.


















I'll tell you what, it was really hard to do photography in sunlight with so many shadows throughout the day, trying to get some lovely photos. The birch tree in my front garden is starting to grow some leaves, here come the challenges to photographing in summer. 😅

The Milkweed butterfly, also in another name of the Monarch butterfly, inspired me when I watched BBC's Spy in the Wild Series 2 in February. In episode 2 "The North", in this scene located the mountain in West Mexico, with the Spy Hummingbird capturing the place that's considered the world's most beautiful natural gathering, where the Monarch butterflies hibernated during the winter. Bloom Wildly | Illustration

It's nearly the end of May, the weather for the last week of the month has been sun shining and over 22c of temperature, such lovely weather. So yesterday, I have been painting the dog rose flowers, that just blossomed nearly 2 weeks ago! Right now they're blooming quite wildly in my home garden and the front! This bush even grows over the tree, makes it so enchanting it's like in a magical summer garden. And with the wall, this can hang further that I can go underneath it for some shade. This one is new from the front as it hasn't grown there before, so it's the first time seeing this. And it's already climbing up the birch tree! It looks nice to look at through the window, where I work on some arts, plus good for some inspirations to illustrate! Whilst I was painting, I did another timelapse video on this.
