London Day Out For Mum's Birthday | British Museum Visit
I went to London on 11th August with my mum, both younger brother and sister, a day out for my wonderful mum's birthday.
Hopped onto the train at 10.26 in the morning, an hour travel to St Pancras station. The weather was really warm and sunshine, luckily. Firstly we were having a lunch in Russell Square garden, before going to the museum.
Into the entrance, the building looked magnificent, either Greek or Roman style, as I have history interest of Greek and Roman.
Once we went inside, we were given 2 hours to look around because we planned to go to Fortune Theatre to see Woman In Black. As we decided to go in British Museum for our spare time before theatre.
Walked into the entrance from the photo above, we were draw by the enormous, majestic stair on the left side. And that lead us to the history of coins and money, we have seen the tiniest coins, the largest coins, stylish, shapes, and so on.
Next room was the Greek, one of my favourite eras. They showed the jewellery, vases, medicine tools, armours, gladiator, toys, furnitures, throne, and so on. Here's a photo of a Greek jewellery ring, that have a rabbit with grapes, there goes with my OBD (Obsessive Bunny Disorder), joke but true, I absolutely adore rabbits. However, I did find that ring looks beautiful.
After the Greek, we went in Egypt, also one of my favourite. Surprisedly the Egypt exhibition were very busy, it was because they have the mummies along with their sarcophagi, as well as some other preserved bodies (of pheasants/poor people).
We had less than hour left to be in the museum, so we went to the Enlightenment gallery for the final view. Here are some photos of ancient statues, with the 'Faun with infant Bacchus', my younger sister confusingly said "why the baby is so small, is he actually holding a baby?", which made me laugh.
Collection of world wild birds. The thing I would do to draw the birds, for my illustrations.
There's also butterflies collection, another one of the thing I draws for illustrations.
Another birds, but cute and smaller.
Botanical illustration by Mary Delany, I absolutely love her illustration, looks almost real as she did pressed these flowers and stick on. I love how she used watercolour painted onto the black, that makes it abstract.
Mark Gatesby's Red Curfew illustration.
Beautiful collection of rocks, I loves glittery sparkling rocks as I own some myself.
And finally in the Collecting The World, a magnificent Finnish glass got my attention, I have got two photos of this glass in different position. Loves how the light shined on the glass that gives some details inside.
Left the British Museum, my family and I walked down to Museum St and got stuck in High Holborn, near the Shaftesbury's Motown The Musical. At the end, we found Fortune Theatre.
The theatre show was really good, I had some very little jump-scared until near at the end where I did get full jump-scared. I really enjoyed it.
After that we went to Byron Hamburgers in Wellingtons St, the food were absolutely great. Then we went to the Golden Jubilee Bridges, we were attempt to recreated the photo we had back in 2006. Funnily enough, we thought the background was the London Eye, yet it was the Parliament. What a change in 10 years, yet I'm very slightly still the same height, I used to be taller than my brother and sister, now they're taller than me as I am older than them two.
I enjoyed it very much and my mum did enjoyed her birthday day out, so that's the good thing. Thanks for reading!

Loving the illustration of butterflies and plants from the Natural History Drawings book, the look of it is like an Observer's Books but in much large and bulky, as for now we have pocket size. This illustration is a passion of mine and the nature (as well as birds) that I illustrates.
A statue of Minerva. I find this interesting with these two different material together.
The Piranesi Vase, a quite tall Roman vase.
An Orrery, a model of the solar system.
Something I really like about these is the pottery style of Neo-Classicism, i love the colours together and how soft they looks overall. The details on the pottery were, of course, inspired by the Greek.
